On Thursday, June 23, 2022, just after 4am custodian Tony Alston was hoping for a normal day at work. Upon arriving at his building, Tony noticed water was pouring down from the lights and that ceiling tiles had fallen to the floor. The 1st floor lobby of the Simpson building had several inches of standing water.
Tony immediately contacted FSC and his supervisor, Broderick Smith. Once the situation was evaluated, co-worker Ken Chambers came over to assist with the clean up. Their combined efforts Tony and Ken were able to remove all of the standing water from each of the affected floors in a timely manner.
Their outstanding teamwork helped reduce any additional damage that this flood could have caused. The exemplary work of these two individuals clearly defines how good communication, teamwork and collaboration will always win no matter what task you may encounter during working hours.
Broderick, Tony and Kenneth were recognized by our department as well as the building facilitator.
